Celeste groeide op in de Unova regio. Toen ze tien jaar werd besloot ze net als alle andere kinderen van haar leeftijd op een pokémon reis te gaan. Ze koos Snivy als haar starter en noemde haar Jalorda. Haar reis verliep net zoals die van alle andere trainers. Ze ontmoette nieuwe pokémon en leerde elke dag nieuwe dingen terwijl de band tussen haar en Jalorda alleen maar hechter werd. Met haar vriend, Touya ging het echter minder. Ze waren al vrienden sinds ze nog maar klein waren. Na een gevecht dat misging tussen hem en een rivaal werd hij geraakt door de gigantische rotsen die een Onix rond gooide over het strijdveld. Hij lag in coma en het leek er niet op dat hij wakker ging worden. Daarvan kreeg Celeste een nachtmerrie waarvan ze zelf niet wakker leek te worden. Ze sliep te diep. Zelfs Jalorda kreeg haar niet wakker. De droom veranderde plots in een veel minder enge droom. Een fijne droom. Celeste ontwaakte door een vreemd, vredig gevoel. Een kleine Munna was naar haar toe gezweefd, aangetrokken door haar nachtmerrie, en had hem verholpen. Als bedankje gaf Celeste al haar pokévoer aan het beestje. Tegen de tijd dat Jalorda en Celeste sterk genoeg waren voor de eerste gym wist ze dat er iets anders was. Haar band met Snivy was alsmaar hechter geworden maar ze genoot er niet van om haar pokémon zo maar af te troeven in een gevecht. Ze hield er meer van om hem speciale aanvallen te laten combineren zodat er mooie effecten uitkwamen. Iets humaner dan het pokémon tegen pokémon gevecht. Toen ze een folder zag hangen in Striaton City over een pokémon contest besloot ze het te bezoeken. Na een avond vol prachtige pokémon gezien te hebben wist ze wat ze worden wilde. Een coördinator!

Later kwam ze een groepje jongens tegen die een Munna aan het stangen waren. Ze was gewond en was te bang om terug te vechten. Samen met Snivy joeg ze de jongens weg en zag dat het dezelfde Munna was als eerst. Hevig onder de indruk dat ze haar geholpen had gaf ze haar een oran berry die ze gevonden had. Celeste raakte gehecht aan de pokémon en vroeg haar of ze mee wilde op haar reizen als coördinator. Ze doopte haar om tot 'Musha'.

I can't imagine being anywhere else

Met een glimlach op haar gezicht wandelde ze naar buiten toe, het zonnetje scheen ondanks dat ze toch al ver in het herfst seizoen waren, het maakte haar niet zo veel uit. Ze was de laatste paar dagen genoeg opgevrolijkt om niet met een chagrijnig gezicht rond te hoeven lopen. Het was zelfs in zo verre verbeterd dat ze niet meer op of om keek van de starende blikken naar de littekens op haar armen, die ze sowieso vandaag gewoon liet zien. Ze had een wit blousje aan met korte mouwen en franje aan de kraag, waaronder ze een licht blauwe jeans droeg en haar haar zat opgestoken in een paardenstaart, die vast geschrikt zat met een witte strik. Vrolijk keek ze om zich heen, terwijl het zonnetje haar blote armen verwarmde. Door de littekens op haar armen was het weefsel verdikt geraakt, waardoor het langer duurde tot dat ze iets voelde, maar gelukkig was dit niet het geval met de zon. Haar zenuwen werkte immers nog gewoon. Vivienne zwaaide naar een paar mensen op een terrasje, die vrolijk naar haar toe zwaaide. Ze begon te huppelen en neuriede zachtjes een liedje, terwijl ze met gesloten ogen over het plein heen ging.
”Oef” mompelde ze, terwijl ze tegen iemand aan wandelde en terug stuiterde. Nog geen tel daarna hoorde ze een bulderende lach en ze hief haar hand boven d’r ogen zodat ze kon kijken tegen wie ze aan was gelopen.
